Flooring Installation and Repair

New Floors, Repaired Floors — Installed Right From the Subfloor Up

If you’re looking for flooring installation that holds up — not just looks good on day one — the quality of the installation matters as much as the material itself. Renossance handles professional flooring installation and repair for homeowners across Trent Hills, Campbellford and surrounding communities, covering everything from subfloor prep to the final trim.

We install vinyl plank, luxury vinyl, laminate flooring, engineered hardwood, tile flooring and hardwood flooring across the Trent Hills region — handling full room installations, partial repairs and flooring replacements of all sizes. Our team brings 7+ years of hands-on experience to every flooring project, with a background in fine carpentry that carries through in how we approach layout, transitions and detail work. Every floor starts with a proper subfloor assessment — because no flooring material performs well over a surface that isn’t flat, dry and structurally sound. We work with homeowners in Campbellford, Hastings, Havelock and throughout the region, and we’re fully insured and bonded on every job.

Why Trent Hills Homeowners Choose Renossance for Flooring Installation

Flooring installation looks straightforward until something goes wrong — a floating floor that develops gaps, tile that cracks because the subfloor flexed, or laminate that buckles because moisture wasn’t accounted for. Getting a durable result means doing the prep work properly, choosing the right installation method for the material and the space, and paying attention to the details that don’t show until a year later. Renossance brings that discipline to every flooring job, whether it’s a single room or a whole-home floor replacement across the Trent Hills area.

Prep Work That Protects Your Investment

Every flooring installation starts with a proper subfloor assessment — levelling, repairs and moisture checks before a single plank goes down. Skipping that step is what leads to flooring failures that look like material problems but are really installation problems.

Homes in the Trent Hills area vary widely in age and construction — and the right flooring type depends on what’s underneath it. We know the common subfloor conditions in this region and can help you choose a flooring option that performs for your specific space.

What Professional Floor Installation Does for Your Home

New flooring transforms how a room feels — and how it functions. The right type of flooring in the right space adds comfort underfoot, makes the room easier to clean and can significantly increase your home’s resale value. A professional flooring installation also means the floor performs as the manufacturer intended, which matters for durability and warranty coverage.

What makes the difference between a floor that lasts and one that doesn’t is what happens before the first plank goes down — proper underlayment, a flat and dry subfloor, and an installation method matched to the material. We bring years of experience and attention to detail to every flooring project in the Trent Hills area, and we’re insured and bonded throughout. What's Included in Our Flooring Installation & Repair Service

Consultation & Material Selection

We walk through the space with you — assessing the existing floor condition, subfloor type, room use and moisture exposure. Based on that, we discuss which type of flooring suits the space: vinyl plank, luxury vinyl, laminate, engineered hardwood, tile or hardwood flooring. You’ll understand the tradeoffs between flooring options before any material is ordered.

Subfloor Assessment & Preparation

Before installation begins, we assess the subfloor for level, structural integrity and moisture. Any areas that need patching, levelling or repair are addressed at this stage — because a proper floor installation depends entirely on what’s underneath it. Underlayment is selected and installed based on the flooring material and subfloor type.

Layout Planning & First Runs

We plan the layout before cutting begins — establishing the starting line, accounting for square footage, room shape and the direction of the plank or tile. The first runs set the standard for everything that follows, so we take the time to get them right. For floating floor installations, expansion gaps are set correctly from the start.

Full Installation & Transitions

Flooring is installed row by row — glue-down, nail-down or floating depending on the material and the manufacturer’s requirements. Cuts around door frames, hearths and irregular walls are handled cleanly. Transition strips between rooms and different flooring types are fitted and secured at this stage, completing the installation across the full footprint.

Final Inspection, Trim & Cleanup

Once all flooring is down, we install or reinstall the baseboard trim and quarter-round as needed, covering the expansion gap cleanly. The floor is inspected for any inconsistencies — loose planks, uneven joints, gaps at transitions — before we consider the job complete. The space is left clean and ready to use.

What's the Difference Between Floating and Glue-Down Floor Installation?

A floating floor — common with laminate flooring, vinyl plank and engineered hardwood — isn’t fastened to the subfloor directly. The planks lock together and the floor moves as a single unit, which makes it faster to install and easier to replace later. Glue-down installation bonds each plank or tile to the subfloor, which produces a more rigid, stable result and is often required in high-traffic areas or over radiant heat systems. The right method depends on the material you’ve chosen and what’s underneath it — we’ll confirm the correct approach during the consultation.

Do You Install Flooring Over Existing Floors, or Does the Old Floor Have to Come Up First?

It depends on the condition and height of the existing floor. In some cases — particularly with vinyl plank over a sound, flat subfloor — installation over the existing surface is possible and saves removal time. In others, the existing floor adds too much height, is damaged or creates an uneven base that will affect the result. We assess the existing floor during the consultation and give you a straight answer on whether removal is needed before we proceed.

What Happens if the Subfloor Is Uneven or Damaged?

We address it before installation starts — not after. An uneven or damaged subfloor will cause problems with any flooring material: floating floors develop soft spots and gaps, tile cracks and glue-down floors separate over time. We patch, level or repair the subfloor as part of the installation process and we won’t start laying floor until the surface meets the flatness tolerance required by the material.

Which Flooring Type Holds Up Best in a Trent Hills Home — Vinyl, Laminate or Engineered Hardwood?

Each has its place depending on the room. Luxury vinyl plank is the most water-resistant option and performs well in kitchens, bathrooms and entryways — it’s durable, easy to clean and handles moisture without warping. Laminate flooring gives you the look of hardwood at a lower price point and works well in living areas and bedrooms, though it doesn’t tolerate standing water. Engineered hardwood flooring offers real wood on the surface with better dimensional stability than solid hardwood, making it a good choice for main living areas in this climate. We’ll walk you through the options that make sense for your specific rooms during the consultation.

Can You Install Flooring in Bathrooms and Wet Areas?

Yes — with the right material. Not every flooring type is suited to wet areas and using the wrong one is one of the most common flooring mistakes we see. For bathrooms and other wet areas, we recommend waterproof luxury vinyl plank or tile flooring — both handle moisture without warping or swelling. Laminate and engineered hardwood are generally not recommended for bathrooms. We’ll confirm the right flooring option for each room during the scoping conversation.
