Trim Installation
Clean Lines, Sharp Corners — Trim Work Done Right the First Time
Trim installation is finish work — and finish work is where a renovation either comes together or falls apart. Renossance handles professional trim installation for homeowners across Trent Hills, Campbellford and surrounding communities, bringing the precision that separates clean results from rushed ones.
We install baseboards, door casing, window trim, crown moulding and interior trim throughout the Trent Hills area — handling everything from straightforward baseboard runs to detailed moulding profiles in older homes. Our team brings 7+ years of hands-on experience to every project, with roots in custom cabinetry and fine carpentry that make the difference in detail work like this. Inside corners are coped or mitered cleanly. Nail holes are filled, joints are tight and every piece of trim is set level and secure before we move on. We’re insured and bonded and we work with homeowners in Campbellford, Hastings, Norwood and across the region to get the finishing details right.
Why Trent Hills Homeowners Choose Renossance for Trim Installation
Trim work is the last thing a homeowner sees when a renovation wraps up — and the first thing that signals whether it was done well. Poorly fitted door casing, uneven baseboards or visible nail holes aren’t small details: they’re what people notice. Renossance approaches every trim installation the same way we approach custom cabinetry — methodically, with the right tools and no shortcuts. That’s why homeowners across the Trent Hills area come back to us when the finishing stage matters.
Precision Cuts, Seamless Joins
We measure and cut every piece of trim carefully — whether it’s a mitre on a door casing or a coped inside corner on a baseboard run. Tight joints and level lines are the standard, not the exception.
Local Crews, Faster Turnaround
Operating within 25–30km of Campbellford, we’re accessible throughout the Trent Hills area and can schedule efficiently without long lead times. Homeowners in Madoc, Havelock and Marmora get the same responsive service as those right in town.
Insured, Straightforward, No Surprises
Renossance is fully insured and bonded on every trim installation project. You’ll know the scope and timeline before we start — and we don’t walk off a job until the finish meets the standard.
What Professional Trim Installation Does for Your Home
New trim installation — or replacing worn, damaged moulding — changes how a room reads. Clean baseboards and properly fitted door casing pull the walls, floors and openings together into something that looks intentional and finished. It’s one of the highest-return improvements per dollar spent on interior work.
Getting that result depends on the fundamentals being done properly — profiles that match across rooms, corners that close tight, and surfaces that are nail-filled and ready for paint. We carry the right tools for the job, from miter saw to nail gun, and we leave the trim work installation-ready. Renossance is insured and bonded, and we’re ready to discuss your project.
Our Trim Installation Process, Step by Step
Consultation & Scope
We start by walking through the spaces where trim installation is needed — baseboards, door casing, window trim, crown moulding or a combination. We assess the existing trim profile, confirm what’s being replaced or added, and discuss material preferences. You’ll leave the consultation with a clear scope and timeline.
Material Sourcing & Prep
Once scope is confirmed, we source or confirm the moulding profiles being used and verify quantities. If existing trim needs to be removed first, we handle that cleanly — pulling the old pieces without damaging the wall or floor surface underneath. New trim is acclimated and inspected before installation begins.
Cutting & Fitting
Every piece is measured and cut with a miter saw for accuracy — inside corners are coped or mitered to suit the profile, and outside corners are checked for square before cutting. We fit each piece before nailing, adjusting until the joint is tight. This step is where the quality of the finished trim work is decided.
Installation & Nailing
Trim is secured with finish nails — using a nail gun for consistent depth and clean entry. Each piece is checked for level as it goes up. Where walls or floors are out of plane, we make the adjustments needed so the trim sits flush and looks right. Caulk is applied along the top edge of baseboards and at casing reveals where needed.
Nail Hole Fill, Cleanup & Walkthrough
All nail holes are filled with filler and sanded smooth, leaving the surface ready to paint or prime. We clean up the work area, remove offcuts and debris, and do a final walkthrough with you to confirm everything meets your expectations. The trim installation is complete when you’re satisfied with the result.
Trim Installation Across Trent Hills and Campbellford
Renossance operates within a 25–30km radius of Campbellford, covering the full Trent Hills area and its surrounding communities. Whether you’re updating the interior trim in a newer home in Norwood or replacing original moulding in an older property in Warkworth or Madoc, we bring the same approach to every project. Local trim work requires knowing how homes in this area were built — the typical floor-to-ceiling heights, the common construction eras, the profiles that suit the existing character. That context makes planning smoother and results better.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Your questions answered. Everything you need to know about trim installation.
Do You Install Trim Before or After Painting?
We install trim before painting — that’s the correct sequence. Once the trim is set, nail holes filled and sanded, and caulk is applied along the top edge and at casing reveals, it’s ready for a painter to come in and cut clean lines. Installing trim over already-painted walls risks chipping and makes caulking messier. If you’re coordinating trades, we’ll work with your painter’s schedule to hand off the space in the right condition.
Can You Match Existing Trim Profiles in My Home?
In most cases, yes. We assess the existing moulding profile during the consultation and source matching material wherever possible. For older homes in the Trent Hills area with non-standard profiles, we work with suppliers to find the closest available match or discuss alternatives that complement the existing character of the space. We won’t install new trim without confirming the profile works first.
What Happens if My Walls Aren’t Perfectly Plumb or My Floors Aren’t Level?
This is common in Trent Hills homes, especially older construction — and it’s something we account for. Where floors slope or walls are out of plumb, we scribe the baseboard to follow the surface rather than leaving a gap at the bottom or packing it out unevenly at the top. The goal is always trim that looks intentional and sits flush, regardless of what the framing is doing behind it.
Do You Supply the Trim Material, or Do I Source It Myself?
Either works. We can source the trim material directly — which simplifies the process and ensures we have the right quantities and profiles on site — or we can work with material you’ve already purchased or selected. If you’re supplying the trim, we’ll confirm the profiles and quantities needed during the consultation so nothing is missing when installation day arrives.
What’s the Difference Between MDF and Solid Wood Trim — and Which Should I Choose?
MDF trim is dimensionally stable, takes paint well and costs less — it’s the right choice for most interior applications in a painted finish. Solid wood trim is better suited to stain finishes, high-traffic areas, or situations where the trim may be exposed to moisture. We’ll walk you through the tradeoffs during the consultation based on your specific rooms, finish preferences and budget.
